Nicole Schram, MA LPC CAADC

Nicole, a Midland, Michigan native, is known for her authenticity, passion, and creativity, which shows up both professionally as Founder of Wellrooted Counseling and personally as mother/wife. She is a licensed professional counselor, with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling.

During her initial years in the field she worked with individuals experiencing addiction and co-occurring conditions. She became a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in a drive to better serve her clients and maintains the rigorous standards for the certification. This was the first of many opportunities she sought to deepen her knowledge of treatments available for mental health conditions.

Nicole completed advanced training in treatment of pediatric OCD through the Behavior Therapy Training Institute associated with the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) which included regular consultation with national OCD experts such as at Johns Hopkins University. She has also earned the title of level 1 Clinician in Radically Open-Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), with additional focused trainings in parent management training, motivational interviewing, mindfulness based stress reduction, treatment and assessment of trauma in adults and children, and supporting individuals with serious mental illness. Nicole is currently pursuing additional training in treatment of disordered eating (specifically ARFID and related specific phobias) and an active member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF) and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and volunteer of their sponsorship committee

Nicole has a clinical interest in serving clients who experience worry, obsessions, anxiety, feeling stuck on aspects of life that are no longer serving them, and developing flexibility to live a value based life.
